Nha Trang, Vietnam – A Hidden Gem in L’alyana Villa
Back in Jan 2018, we had the privilege of traveling on our honeymoon to Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Decided on staying in L’alyana Ninh Van Bay (formerly known as An Lam Ninh Van Bay Villas )
Found out later on that the owner sold of this resort and started another resort not too far from this location. I preferred this location because of it’s exclusive location situated off the mainland of Nha Trang on a separate island. The whole journey begins upon touching down the airport of Cam Ranh International Airport, Vietnam.
We ordered airport travel and was supplied with a driver waiting for us at the airport. He quickly whisked us away to special jetty for guests to L’alyana. The jetty is technically your only entrance to the island where they will check you in and serve you with cool down drinks and food.
Here you can see the staff helping us with our luggages unto the boat which brought us to the island. The overall trip from the airport to the jetty takes about 30 minutes and is fairly comfortable ride giving you a nice view of Nha Trang.
There are limited villas on this island so do make your bookings early, the staff on the island are rather friendly and helpful. Most of them do speak english so that was a bonus point which helps with communication.
Every villa would have a personal butler to serve you, our butler was called Chup. He would be the one to arrange your meals, your activities or bookings. The sweetener was that every single night like a ninja hidden from us he would provide “winding down” services for our villa. The curtains were brought down, candles were brought out, aircond temperatures were set and the mosquito nets (we didnt really see any mosquitos) were laid.
Here we are with our personal butler, Chup who was ever so helpful and smily.
As for the villa, attached are some of the pictures. Every villa came with a pool big enough for an elephant to get in. We could literally get out of bed and jump into the pool right in front of us. On top of that there are probably only about 20 villas and each villa is quite a distant from each other. So you will get your privacy although there are no locks on the door, it’s an open villa concept.
The island itself has a fresh farm where all the food is planted and plucked from the ground. The Vietnamese food served on the island is truly one of the best. Everything is fresh and cooked on the spot. A lot of their food has some French influence – try the baguette truly one of the best (freshly baked every single morning!!) and also the Vietnamese coffee is to die for. I could’t find a comparable baguette or coffee on the island itself – hard to match. All these food – you will truly be spoiled. I have not had a bad meal on the island – that amazing.
The amazing Vietnamese coffee as shown below.

Although there are a lot of staffs that are working on the island, you would literally feel like the only two person on the island. They do try their best to get out of your way and stay hidden from sight most of the time. Your privacy as a couple is assured.
The island has plenty to keep you occupied and well rested. You will get different activities like massages, hikes, cooking and so forth. But IF you do get bored, you could always take the boat out to town where you could walk around and experience it like a local. Take note that Nha Trang is still not very developed and there is only a single main mall in the center of the town. I personally would recommend just staying on the island and enjoying all the activities.
Overall a fantastic romantic vacation for two. Definitely a hidden gem.
